The Squirrel class had a fantastic pirate day to celebrate our topic this term! They made telescopes, a moving ship picture, cork boats which they tested in the water tray, built a pirate ship using loose parts and made treasure maps. We also went on a treasure hunt using a map of the school. At the end of the route, they found a treasure chest guarded by a fearsome pirate. In the afternoon, they enjoyed a visit from Elfyn Jones from Sonopera who taught us sea shanties. We danced and sang along as he played his guitar and accordion.
