In Squirrels Class this week, we learnt about Grace Darling, a brave Victorian heroine who became famous for helping to rescue people from a shipwreck during a terrible storm. We discovered how Grace and her father rowed their small boat through rough seas to save the survivors, showing incredible courage and kindness. The children enjoyed taking part in role-play, acting out the exciting rescue and imagining what it would have been like to be so brave. This helped us to understand why Grace Darling is remembered as a real-life hero.
