Rumpelstiltskin

This week, we have been reading the traditional tale Rumpelstiltskin. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story and talking about the characters and events.

In the story, the Miller’s daughter gives her necklace to Rumpelstiltskin in exchange for spinning straw into golden thread. Inspired by this, the children created beautiful pictures using golden thread, exploring different textures and patterns in their artwork.

We also thought about how the Miller’s daughter might have felt after giving away her necklace, so we made her a new one! The children carefully painted pasta and threaded it together with colourful beads to create some wonderful necklaces.

At the end of the week, the children drew their own pictures to retell parts of the story, showing their creativity and developing their storytelling skills. It has been a fantastic week full of imagination, creativity, and fun learning.
