Year 1 had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day with a special focus on the story The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. The children enjoyed listening to the story and joining in with the repeated phrases while learning about the different characters. They took part in a range of fun activities, including making “Gruffalo crumble”, creating bead-threading snakes like the one in the story, and drawing their own story maps to retell the adventure of the mouse in the deep dark wood. It was a fantastic day that encouraged creativity, storytelling, and a love of reading. 📚✨
