1.1 SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT | MTA

REQUIRED: ASAP

HOURS PER WEEK: 11.65 (AFTERNOONS 1:10PM – 3:30PM MONDAY – FRIDAY) | MTA 5 HPW (12:15PM – 1:15PM MONDAY TO FRIDAY)

WORKING WEEKS: 38 WEEKS (TERM TIME)

STATUS: FIXED TERM/ PART TIME/ UNTIL 31ST AUGUST 2025

STARTING SALARY: £12.18 PER HOUR | MTA £11.60

GRADE: C | A

CLOSING DATE: 12 NOON ON FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2024

Umberleigh Academy is looking to appoint a 1.1 SEND TA to join our academy as soon as possible. The appointed person will work in close partnership with the relevant class teachers and will help to support an individual pupil to engage with their learning. In-service training will be provided where appropriate.

The position is fixed term linked to EHCP funding and will end when the child moves onto their next phase of education, or they leave year 6 in July 2028 whichever is sooner.

In addition to the teaching assistant hours, there are 5 further hours available worked over 5 lunchtimes per week as a Mealtime Assistant at Grade A (£11.60 per hour). The post holder will engage with pupils during the lunch time break to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for them.
