Eden Project Trip

Owl & Hedgehog classes enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Eden Project, where they took part in the Rainforest Uncovered workshop and explored one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests.
During the workshop, students became rainforest explorers, learning how indigenous communities survive in tropical environments by identifying plants used for food, shelter, water and medicine. The session encouraged pupils to think about the challenges of living in a rainforest and how natural resources can support everyday life.
Inside the Rainforest Biome, pupils experienced the heat, humidity, sounds and smells of a tropical environment while observing exotic plants from around the world. Many were fascinated by the towering trees, aerial walkway and waterfall, which helped bring classroom learning in geography and science to life.
Back in the classroom area, pupils worked in groups using artefact boxes to share what they had discovered, developing teamwork and communication skills while deepening their understanding of rainforest ecosystems. The workshop also highlighted the importance of conservation and the role rainforests play in protecting the planet.
This trip was a valuable opportunity for pupils to learn outside the classroom in an engaging and memorable setting.
The visit supported current learning in geography, science and environmental studies, and gave pupils a hands-on experience they will remember for a long time.
Thank you to our FUS for supporting this trip with transport funding.
