The squirrel class enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year and exploring how it is celebrated around the world. They discovered some of the traditions, such as decorating with red and gold, watching dragon dances, messy play making Chinese food, Chinese numbers/writing and giving red envelopes for good luck. The children also learnt about the animals of the Chinese zodiac and talked about the special foods people eat during the celebrations. Through stories, crafts, and discussions, the children developed an understanding of different cultures and enjoyed celebrating this exciting festival together.
