Dear Parents/Carers
Uniform and Equipment: Setting Children Up for Success
Wearing the correct school uniform and bringing the right equipment may seem like small details, but they play a big role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing—especially in the primary years.
A consistent uniform helps children feel a sense of belonging and equality. When everyone is dressed the same, the focus stays on learning, friendships and fun, rather than on clothing choices or differences. Uniforms also help children develop independence and responsibility as they learn to take care of their belongings and be ready for the school day.
Recently, we have noticed a small number of items being worn that are not part of our school uniform. We understand that mornings can be busy and appreciate your support in helping children come to school in the correct uniform each day.
It is also very important that children bring their book bags and reading books into school every day, as these are used regularly in class to support learning and reading progress and help us build on the reading children have been practising at home.
To help children stay organised, please remember:
- Blue drawstring bags are for PE kits.
- Green drawstring bags are for Forest School kits.
All items of clothing and equipment, including coats, jumpers, PE kit and Forest School clothing, must be clearly named. This helps us return lost items quickly and avoids unnecessary upset for children.
If you need any support with uniform, bags, or equipment, please do come and talk to us. We have a small supply of pre-loved items that we are happy to issue where needed.
Thank you for your continued support. These simple steps make a big difference in helping children feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Best wishes
Miss Corrinne Smith
Attendance
Our current whole-school attendance stands at 95.2%. While this is encouraging, we must continue to emphasise how important regular attendance is. Every day missed from school is lost learning, and persistent lateness also has a significant impact on children’s progress, confidence and sense of belonging. Thank you for your continued support in helping children arrive on time, every day.
