Dear Parents and Carers,
As we head further into the summer term, I wanted to share some information about the upcoming assessments taking place in school over the next few weeks.

Year 6 – SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) Our Year 6 pupils will be sitting their SATs next week, from Monday 11th May to Thursday 14th May. We are really proud of how hard the children have been working in preparation for these, and we’re focusing on keeping them feeling calm, confident and ready to do their best.
There’s no need for any extra pressure at home. Making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, arrives at school on time, and feels supported and reassured will make a big difference. We would like to offer them a special SATs breakfast each day of their tests, so if they would like to attend this, they must arrive at school for 8.30am from Monday to Thursday next week.

Year 4 – Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) Year 4 will complete their Multiplication Tables Check during the national window from Monday 2nd June to Friday 13th June. This is a short online check of times tables up to 12 x 12.
A little regular practice at home can really help boost confidence—quick games, apps or even practising in the car can all make a difference!

Year 1 – Phonics Screening Check Year 1 pupils will take part in the Phonics Screening Check during the week beginning Monday 9th June. This is a short, one-to-one check where children read a mixture of real and “alien” words to show their phonics skills.
Reading regularly at home and practising sounds together is a great way to support your child.
We know that every child is different, and these assessments are just one small part of their learning journey. Our main aim is to make sure the children feel happy, supported and proud of themselves.
If you have any questions or would like any advice on how to help at home, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Corrinne Smith
