Life, Love and Learning to the Full

Dear Parents and Carers,

I wanted to share some personal news with you. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to step down from my role as Head of School at Umberleigh Academy and I will be leaving at the end of this summer term.

This wasn’t an easy decision to make, as being part of this school community has meant a great deal to me. I feel very lucky to have worked with such wonderful children and such a supportive community, and I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve achieved together.

I want to reassure you that I’ll be here as usual over the coming months, doing everything I can to support the children and ensure a smooth and positive transition.

The Trust will now begin the process of finding a new Head of School, and I’m confident they will appoint someone who will continue to take the school from strength to strength.

I’m sure there will be chances to say goodbye properly over the next few weeks, but for now I just want to say thank you for your support and your kindness.

Best wishes,

Corrinne Smith

Head of School
