Harvest Festival
Umberleigh School's annual Harvest Festival saw a wonderful display of fruit and vegetables. Produce was auctioned with the sum of £160 going to the Barnstaple Poverty Action Group along with the tins/packaged goods.

"Leap into Life" at Umberleigh School
A new Devon initiative has been introduced involving the infants at Umberleigh School. Each morning (apart from Tuesdays when they already do P.E.) the infant class all "Leap into Life" ably led by Mrs Bateman.

Official Opening of new footpath - 6th Sept 2007
Following many years of campaigning by governors and local councillors, a new footpath has been opened which now gives a safe walkway from the school to the village.

New Foundation Stage Play area
During the summer holidays, thanks to Jim Harding, part of the school site was transformed from an untidy area to a fabulous new outdoor foundation stage area where the youngest children will be able to play.

End of Term School Trip
This year we took the brave decision to go to the beach for our end of term trip........very brave considering it had rained for the last six weeks!
However the day dawned and the skies cleared and the children had a wonderful time at Westward Ho! Here they are building sandcastles and after lunch they enjoyed some rock pooling.

Paignton Zoo Residential
The Year 5 & 6 children went to Paignton Zoo for their bi-annual residential. They took part in various activities at the Zoo, visited Living Coasts, Goodrington Beach and enjoyed a boat trip around the bay.

School Choir The school choir took part in the Chittlehampton Festival of Music. Under the direction of Vicki Redpath, their music teacher, they had learnt lots of songs and performed them brilliantly. |
May 2007
| The junior children were asked to complete a
map of the village for display in the village hall as part of
the "Best Kept Village" entry for Umberleigh this year.
The committee were so impressed with the map that they took it
to the Devon County Show were it was displayed in the
Countryside for the Protection of Rural England Tent. The school received a £50 voucher from Mole Valley Farmers for this exhibit. |

"Pirates Day"
A fun filled day was enjoyed by all as everyone at Umberleigh School turned into Pirates for the day. The children enjoyed songs, games, arts & crafts, obstacle courses and a treasure hunt.
